A captain leaves his daughter at a London boarding school and sails back to India. For a while the school treats her as the heiress she is — then a letter arrives about diamond mines that failed. You play Sara, moved up to the attic between a scullery maid and the cold, and the person you speak to most is the woman who put you there.
