Short version: there are no accounts, and nothing you type is sent to us. Almost everything NetFable remembers is kept on your own device.

What is stored on your device

These live in your browser's local storage. They are not cookies and are never sent to a server. Clearing site data removes all of them.

What we do not collect

No account, no sign-up, no email address, no password.
No payment details — nothing on NetFable costs money.
The name you enter is never sent anywhere. It exists only in your browser.
No advertising, and nothing sold or shared with data brokers.

Measurement

We look at anonymous, aggregate reading data — how many people start a chapter and how many finish it — to work out which stories are worth continuing. It is counted per random session id, never per person.

Google Analytics tells us roughly where visitors arrive from and on what kind of device. It sets a cookie, so it only runs if you accept on the cookie bar, and you can change that at any time from the footer. Decline and it is never loaded at all. See the cookie policy.

Our host, Cloudflare, also measures page performance without cookies and without identifying anyone.

Where the site runs

NetFable is served by Cloudflare. Your request reaches their network, which means your IP address is processed to deliver the page, as with any website.

Your choices

Decline analytics cookies, or withdraw that later from "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
Clear site data in your browser to erase everything above, including reading progress.
Read in a private window and nothing survives when you close it.
