About this story
Your reunion is formal at first, careful talk of alliances and the distance that comes from two rulers-in-waiting who are always being watched, but the warmth underneath is unmistakable as he admits he's thought about you and your kingdom more than duty required. As his coronation approaches, what began as diplomacy turns into something neither of you can call just politics anymore.
